For accurate and consistent readings, follow these 3 simple, but very important steps:
- Cuff size. Measure the circumference of your upper arm (on the biggest part) using a tape measure. Compare that measurement to the size imprinted on your cuff. If your arm size does not fall within the range imprinted on your cuff, please get the correct sized cuff by using the enclosed "Factory Mail In Bonus Offer" or by purchasing a larger cuff. Cuffs are available in your local pharmacy or by calling Zewa customer service at 888-993-3592.
- Position. In order to get accurate readings it is important that you ALWAYS use the same position when taking a measurement. Sit on a chair with your arm placed on a table in front of you. Feet flat on the floor. For more information, please check pictures in the instruction manual.
- Resting Period. In order to get consistent readings, also called your resting blood pressure, you need to rest at least 5 - 10 minutes before taking a measurement. Depending on your age, it is sometimes recommended to place the cuff around your arm first and then rest. This will give you the most consistent measurement.
